Herringbone Petals

I love the way herringbone stitch curves when I use two different sizes together. I decided to explore designs featuring that stitch, keeping a log of my progress. This is the final piece, which I arrived at after five preliminary stages. On the way I had more ideas to explore, but keeping the log helped me stay on task and arrive at this design.
